Caring for glass
Cleaning
Do not clean stained glass pieces with harsh or abrasive substances such as glass cleaner, ammonia or a Brillo pad. Panels without glue-ons can be gently washed with a a soft toothbrush or cloth, using a mild soap such as dish detergent, and carefully dried with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Important note: Over time, solder lines can develop white patches due to oxidation, which can be removed with a soft cloth moistened with a small amount of white vinegar. Another option is to very gently rub the areas with a tiny piece of very fine steel wool (grade 0000). Please let me know if you need help with this.
Glued-on objects
Stained glass panels with glue-ons are best dusted with a soft brush such as a computer brush or make-up brush. If an object falls off, it can be replaced using a glue that dries perfectly clear, such as Loctite Glass Glue.
Restoring the shine: Each piece I create is polished when complete, but sometimes the finish gets duller over time. You can restore the shine by buffing your piece gently with a soft cloth. Make sure to also buff the solder lines.
